The Rules

So you have gathered the necessary Super 14 information from a variety of clandestine sources that usually makes you the undisputed king of rugby banter around the fire on the weekend. However, your challenge has always been translating this into hard evidence.

Fortunately for bright sparks like you, My Game presents the opportunity to put your mostly unnoticed hours of surfing the rugby net at work into something useful. Few lads will turn down the prospect of earning serious bragging rights – so before you register, have a quick look at how My Game works.

The idea is to provide the hard-core rugby nuts out there a reliable database and a fun way of watching your predictions turn into reality, resulting in you raking in the points. There is no cost involved or any hidden agendas.

First things first – being somebody who supports our beloved game, you will have no problem in declaring your allegiance. So that is why we have asked you to pick the side you support at registration. At the end of the championship, we will be able to ascertain for the next few months at least, who the most mentally challenged supporters are, for your own benefit, so that you can avoid them at future rugby get-togethers.

Business section

  • Obligatory Selections
    • There will be a number of Super 14 games each weekend for the next few weeks. Your mission is to correctly predict the winner of each game and the winning margin (or if you sit on the fence, you can go for a draw).

      • Points are allocated as follows:
      • 20 points for choosing the winner correctly
      • 70 points for correctly predicting a draw
      • 10 points for predicting the winning margin (excluding a draw)

    • By doing this, you will have completed the minimum necessary selections and therefore avoided the weekly penalty of ignoring us – which is -1 point for every game you miss. You may now get back to work or more excitingly delve into the murky depths of betting your hard earned points. READ ON…

  • Betting Selections
    • We have decided to add some spice to the points table and have therefore added some betting options to divide the men from the boys.
    • Once you have parted from your decisions in the above “Obligatory Selections”, we encourage you bet some of your points on the following categories:

      • 1, 2 or 3 points bet, to get 10 points if you correctly select the range of jerseys responsible for scoring the most tries
        • Range A Numbers 1-8 (bet 3 points and get 10 back i.e. you win 7 plus the 3 you bet)
        • Range B Numbers 9, 10, 12 and13 (bet 2 points to get 10 back i.e. you win 8 plus the 2 you bet)
        • Range C Numbers 11,14 and 15 (bet 3 points and get 10 back i.e. you win 7 plus the 3 you bet)
        • Range D The Bench (bet 1 point to get 10 ie you win 9 plus the 1 you bet)
        • If no tries are scored or the same amount of tries are scored by more than one option, your points are returned (you loose nothing)

      • 1 or 4 points bet, to get 10 points if you correctly select the jersey number of the official Man of the Match (as per Rugby 365)
        • Range A Numbers 1-8 (bet 4 points and get 10 back ie you win 6 plus the 4 you bet)
        • Range B Numbers 9-15 (bet 4 points to get 10 back ie you win 6 plus the 4 you bet)
        • Range C The Bench (bet 1 point and get 10 back ie you win 9 plus the 1 you bet)
        • If no no Man of the Match is announced (on Rugby 365), your bet is returned and you loose nothing.

      • 1, 2 or 3 points bet, to get 10 points if you correctly select the range of jerseys responsible for racking up the most yellow cards (a red card will count as 2 yellow cards)
        • Range A Numbers 1-5 (bet 3 points and get 10 back ie you win 7 plus the 3 you bet)
        • Range B Numbers 6-8 (bet 2 points to get 10 back ie you win 8 plus the 2 you bet)
        • Range C Numbers 9-15 (bet 3 points and get 10 back ie you win 7 plus the 3 you bet)
        • Range D The Bench (bet 1 point to get 10 ie you win 9 plus the 1 you bet)
        • If no Yellow Cards are awarded or the same amount of Yellow Cards are handed down to more than one option, the bet is returned (you loose nothing)
A quick glance at the odds and you will notice that they are slightly weighted in your favour, so YES, for once it pays to take a bet!

Members are allotted 2 auto-pix for My Game in the event that they fail to get their predictions in on time. An auto pick is the week's average score less 1 point per game played (usually 6).

Weekly Winner

The player who, at the end of each Super 14 round, has the most points will be deemed to be the weekly winner.
In the event of a tie the player that predicted the most correct number of wins over the entire weekend's results will be the winner.
If there is still a tie then player that predicted the most correct number of tries over the weekend will be the winner.
In the unlikely event that we still have a tie we then revert to most number of correct Man of the Match predictions, then Yellow cards and after that it will come down to the toss of a coin.

The Overall Winner
